Hello and Welcome to Sunnyside!

We are a small and sustainable market farm located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. The Huyett family has worked these rolling pastures and wooded hillsides for generations and we are doing our best to keep the farming traditon alive and thriving for generations to come.

At Sunnyside we grow a diverse varitey of fruits and vegetables and we continue to experiment and add new tasty treats every season.  We of course grow the  local favorites like crisp sweet apples, tangy tomatoes,  juicy peaches,  sweet corn, and fresh hand-picked green beans. We also carry  a fine selection of exotic delights such as  super sweet white nectarines, musky melons from the middle east, baby french beans, spicy oriental greens, crunchy dutch cucumbers, firey sweet carribean peppers, baby globe artichokes, velvety mushrooms, over a dozen kinds of eggplant from around the world, and baby micro-greens.   We  keep the kitchen staples coming in fresh from our patches;  new potatoes, scallions, garlic, yellow squash and zucchini,  broccoli, fresh herbs, beautiful cut flowers, and many others.

All of our produce is harvested by hand at the peak of ripeness and then washed and inspected. We try to sell only the best tasting and most beautiful fruits, vegetables, greens, and flowers that we can produce.

Our farm is a sustainable operation, and although we are not organic, we do our best to keep our spraying to a minimum by using alternative growing practices. We practice high-density planting, integrated pest management systems, creative crop rotation, and we are slowly implementing a range of bio-dynamic and organic solutions to many of the common farm problems. We were voted sustainable farm of the year in Jefferson county in 1998.
